The Story behind The Noir Bean

The story begins at 7 years old.

My grandma would place five cups on the counter every morning and call all us girls downstairs. We’d line up half asleep, pouring cream and brown sugar into our coffees before running to be the first one to get our back scratched by Grandma. Those mornings are some of my favorite memories, and I think that’s where my love for coffee really started. Coffee always felt warm, comforting, and connected to the people I loved most.

As I got older, I started going to Starbucks with my mom before school, always ordering the same white mocha she drank. Eventually, coffee became more than just a drink to me. While everyone else was going to parties and football games, I was in my room studying recipes, learning about beans, collecting coffee mugs on vacations, and bringing home coffee from different places. I became a real coffee connoisseur without even realizing it.

Then one day, I was sitting at an ashram in Colombia and had this moment where I thought, “Wait… this could actually be what I do.” At the time, I had originally started with tea, and my company had a completely different name. I was SO attached to that name, the branding, the logo… all of it.

But after really devoting myself to my faith, I decided to do a 3-day fast. During that fast, I felt God tell me to change the business name. Honestly, I didn’t want to. I was scared to let go of something I had worked so hard on. But I heard Him again so clearly: “Trust Me. Just do it.”

So I did.

And the second I stopped trying to control everything myself and followed what God was telling me to do, truly picking obidence over fear, everything started changing. After months of feeling stuck and stagnant, He started sending the right people, the right opportunities, and the help I needed to finally get this business off the ground.

That’s why I know The Noir Bean is bigger than just coffee. It’s built on faith, passion, and purpose. I trust God with every part of this business because He’s the reason it exists in the first place. I just want to serve Christ and Coffee. That ‘s it.
